Eligibility
The Certificate in Education would be designed to serve students in their upper years of undergraduate study as well as those in their graduate studies in related fields.
Designed and coordinated by the AUCA Institute of Education and Bard College, the Certificate in Education provides a structured path for students interested in gaining a foundational knowledge of the theory and practice of education. Students participating in the certificate program will pursue a course of study that provides a launching point for ongoing academic and/or professional work in the field of education. The Certificate in Education fosters a practical understanding of the pedagogical, cultural, and developmental valences of lesson planning, instruction, assessment, and creating effective learning environments.

1`Students must complete four courses in education:
Please note that the first three required courses – "Lesson Design, Planning, and Assessment," "Theory and Practice of Teaching," and "Developing a Learning Environment" – will be offered through the GHEA21 network. The content-area elective may be taken either through GHEA21 or at the student's home institution.
